Talking about my illustrations, I have to say that I used this term just to give an order to my portfolio. To be precise, all my pictures (except maybe the photos in their original state) are indeed illustrations, so in this particular chapter I'll refer to the works I made that respect in some way the "old fashion school of art" rules and look.

I do like realize classic illustrations as well as graphics. The difference between this medias is (in my opinion) that if in the illustrations I must stay in contact with reality (lights and proportions etc) with graphics I can play around with colors and shapes... And layers, of course, lots and lots of layers! I believe it's something that has to do more with building a concept and to communicate an idea that represent a feeling or a mood.

Oh yeah! I do love to build worlds! I discovered Bryce by chance and I fell in love with it right away! To all the snob people that find this program too simple and limited (and say it isn't professional and bla bla bla) I'll answer that (in my humble opinion) a good picture is the result of a good imagination and spirit of observation rather than good software per se. 

Another thing I really enjoy to do, is to work to a very particular kind of pictures that I collect here under the title "still life" but that are indeed stock illustrations These pictures are specifically thought and realized for the world of publishing and are generally vivid in colors and paged in vertical size to fit an hypothetical magazine cover, with some space left blank at the top and at the bottom for titles and headlines. This type of illustrations represents every time a real challenge for a designer because is necessary to be concise to express a concept in just one single picture.
